Background
I have agronomics engineer diploma (results: First class Honours) since December 2005 (FSA-UAC). From 2006 to 2008, I worked in Ministry of Agriculture as technician specialized in crop production responsible for the supervision and training of smallholder farmers in rural areas. From 2008 to 2012, I was either program officer in UrgenceAfrique NGO or I taught in plant production (LAMS-Sekou), From 2012 to 2013, I was graduated Master’s Degree in management of livestock and crop resources in tropical environments at Gembloux Agro Bio-Tech (University of Liege). Currently, as civil agent in Benin I have focused on my PhD research.
Research project
My PhD project (2014-2018) aims to sustainably improve the performance of lowland rice production systems by using Sesbania rostrata as a green manure in Benin. As an important source of nitrogen, the green manure can be a profitable alternative to reduce the decline of nitrogen fertility in lowland fields. Consequently, the improvement of soil fertility as well as lowland rice yield may be expected.
The results of this project will develop fact sheets, poster, scientific articles that can be used for the benefit of smallholder farmers and training or extension centers in the context of climate change in Benin.
