Background
I hold a Master degree in Management of Natural resources from the University of Abomey Calavi (Benin). Since 2013, I have been involved in research project focusing on sustainable use and conservation of indigenous palm species. My work aimed at examining the geographical distribution in the context of climate change and the population structure of Borassus aethiopum in the Guineo-Congolian zone of Benin.
Research project
Ecosystem goods and services are of fundamental importance to human well-being, health, livelihoods, and survival. The main objective of my research project is to improve the state of knowledge on the ecosystem goods and services in Benin by focusing in the quantification, the mapping and the valuation of ecosystem services in order to propose strategies for their sustainable uses and management. The knowledge produced in this study, as well as its policy recommendations will help Benin Governments and institutions to develop strategies to meet the sustainability and conservation goals set out in the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
