Baobab leaves production selected as the Best entrepreneurship idea of UAC Startup Valley challenge 2018

Following the call for entrepreneurship ideas (5th batch) of the Foundation of the University of Abomey-Calavi, the business idea of Mariette AGBOHESSOU (Mastering student in the Project BAOCHAIN) and her team, has been selected as the best business idea. The business idea was first shortlisted among 20 others projects. Mariette and her team successfully convinced the examining board during an additional interview step, demonstrating the relevance, the originality and feasibility of their business idea.

The project entitled “Production of fresh baobab leaves” aims at (i) providing consumers with fresh baobab leaves or transformed baobab leaves using horticultural techniques; (ii) sensitizing consumers about the nutritional properties of baobab leaves and positive effects of their consumption, (iii) exporting baobab leaves and powder to Benin bordering countries.

Mariette’s team will be supported by the Foundation of the University of Abomey-Calavi through the programme UAC Startup Valley. The support includes series of 6 trainings and capacity building.
